I met up w. a bunch of my buddies from high school, and college a couple weeks ago -- where would a group of about 9 guys be able to go?

While most of us are doing pretty well financially, some of us were smarter (2), and went and are managing a big (42K acres) game ranch in S. Texas.

If the hunt could stay under 5K, I think my buddies could do it, but less would be better.

We all grew up hunting, and for whatever reasons, I don't think any of us are hung up on book, etc, as long as it's fair chase, and a mature animal.

What species, and where would ya'll suggest? Some of those cull hunts look interesting, but I don't think they need that many of us.

We went to Namibia with an outfit called Safari West. They took 8 of us and took very good care of us. We took 65 animals in 8 hunting days. I can't say enough good things about them. Food was great. The lodge was an old German army baracks made of stone and wood that had been refurbished and was quite comfortable. Most of the animals we took were SCI gold medal animals. It is a tough deal to take that many guys and keep everybody happy. If you want me to get you contact info let me know. "D"

Although cartridge selection is important there is nothing that will substitute for proper first shot placement. Good hunting, "D"

We have just the hunt for you in Namibia. It's designed for groups. Rather than force everyone into the same package, we allow each hunter to shoot whatever floats his boat and we give everyone 20% off the (already reasonable) trophy fees if the group takes $25K of trophies...should be easy in this case. So list on an oryx is $600, for you guys it would only be $480. Daily rates would be only $250.

Trophy fees for this hunt are posted at Big Five HQ - Jochen

If you want REALLY cheap, we offer a 7 night/6 day combo bird/PG hunt in RSA that is just a blast, tented camp, $1200 group rate plus PG trophy fees. Each hunter gets 4 days on birds and 2 days on PG for that price. The bird hunting is fabulous and the big game hunting is for free-ranging kudu, impala, warthog, steenbok, duiker, bushpig and maybe bushbuck.
