What is the nearest location to Malapati that could offer a quality sable hunt; and, who is the contact person?
I'd like to have a contingency plan should I take my elephant early and have the fees to afford a sable. I'll be in Malapati the last of Oct / first of Nov 2009.

Not close; however, Gordon Duncan at Doma Safaris seems to have a good shootable herd around the Doma Area; also, might try Glenn @ Shaangan Hunters, located in the Save Conservancy

Sable is usually booked up early with limited quotas in each area and normally requires a minimum number of hunting days... Maybe best to reach out to some of the outfitters who post on the site... Good Luck

I hunted Sable in Kwe Kwe with Charlton/mcCallum 2 years ago and saw a lot of Sable in 10 days probably 100. The brush was too thick at the time and I never saw anything worht shooting. BUT the animals were there.
If your parents didn't have any children chances are you won't either.
