I'm looking for a 45 degree pedestal to mount a kudu on. I've looked in all the taxidermy catalogs and haven't found what I'm looking for. Short of having a custom one made, does anyone have any suggestions? I want the backside of the kudu form to be 45 degrees and mount to the pedestal. I don't want it standing up in the air on top of the mount. Clear as mud? Jeff

Kind of like a plaque standing on the floor? I've never seen anything like this, probaly have to have it made. Give Mike Barry a call @ Animal Crafts, he's down in your area (619)473-8312. If anyone can find it, he probably can.

How about having your taxidermist cut it from a full-body or half-body form? Might be less than having a custom form done?
Option 2: Select the flat-back wall shoulder mount form you like, and have your taxidermist also get some high density foam big enough to be epoxied to the back of the form and then shaped appropriately. A buddy of mine had it done on one of his mounts.

I understand what you're after. I've not seen it, but sounds good. It doesn't seem to me that it would be that difficult to come up with by a cabinet maker. He'll want you to draw it out for him. Or if you're handy, maybe make it yourself. I want a pedestal base for my Waterbuck, and see that the ones that suit me run about $750 to $1000. Talked to a friend who likes to do woodwark and we decided to make it a winter project. He says it'll only take us a few evenings. Bought the needed cherry wood for less than $150. If you get what you want, please show us a photo--I'd like to see it.

I'm not talking about the form. The form is available. I'm talking about the wooden platform/pedestal it attaches to.
