On The Learning Channel

Palin travels from Spain to Kenya while reflecting on The Sun Also Risies and Green Hills of Africa.

While in Spain he experiences the running of the bulls and interviews a bull-fighter.

(no real mention of perceived animal cruelty, but Palin demonstrates that while he has a life-long admiration of Hemingway, he is lilly-livered and utterly uninformed about the truth)

In Kenya he comments (paraphrase) that Hemingway hunted and walked these lands with a professional hunter - Phillip Percival. Now Palin tries to retrace Hemingway's footsteps with a guide - "Not to kill the animals, but to save them..."

Roll Eyes (Sure, Professional White Hunters were not interested in protecting wildlife...)

More Paraphrase: Long after Hemingway died, hunting and poaching continued making wildlife scarcer than it had been in Hemingway's time...

The Learning Channel - pffft!'

The Liberal Establishment Re-education Indoctrination Channel is more like it.

Today, I don't think anyone in UK can publicly state in the media that he is a hunter. It would only be printed if the person also happened to have already been convicted of multiple felonies to show that the two go together. To publicly state that hunting is the prefered method of guaranteeing the survival of wild animals and natural biotopes would allow you to be compared to other infamous characters in history like Genghis Khan, Attila the Hun, Idi Amin Dada, Pol Pot and Jack the Ripper. I'm afraid the British media and the average citizen prefer to believe in fairy tales rather than examine the facts.

Liberal, eccotouristy, anti hunter, save the world type garbage.

Papa would not have approved!

Palin's other travel type programs are pretty good though.
