Are Common Eland and Cape Eland the same ?

Sort of; common eland is more of a category than a particular type of animal, meaning not the Giant or Lord Derby eland. Commom eland include the cape, Livingstone, and East African eland.

I shot a Big Cape Eland this June..I learned there
were different type Eland...but didn't know that
"common Eland" included types other than the Lord
Derby Eland. I think its better to just differentiate, rather than use the term "common Eland" as apparently it doesn't mean much.
