I hunted Damarland for 6 days in 2005 for plains game. The outfitter had a leopard tag available if we saw tracks we could have hung a bait and tried. Never saw a leopard track, did see lion tracks however.

Hunted a ranch that bordered Damara land five years ago. Had some leopard baits out, but no activity, until my last day when we found a large track that walked around but did not feed. He didn't show up that evening. The area in Damara land was pretty heavily overgrazed where I traveled through it, but that was along roads and across the fence from the ranches I hunted on. I did not actually hunt on their side. There was quite a bit of leopard activity in the area I hunted.
I recall my PH's Dad taking me aside at a barbque, and telling we in a heavily burboned accentthat he would kick my A_s if I missed a leopard. We were about the same age, but he was a foot taller and probably a lot tougher than me. We laughed and slapped each other on the back. I really liked that guy. He was an old school cattle rancher.
