Guys, I hope this in not a silly question. I have never traveled on a plane with a rifle. I have a gun case that locks with a padlock and I understand that when traveling by air, I can use my own padlock or a TSA lock. However, I also have a gun case that has a combination lock. Can you travel on an airline with a gun in a case with a combination lock, and if so, what is the procedure? Yes you can. You put your gun into the case and lock it. If you are called back and asked to open the case you will either open it for them or give TSA the combination.

There is a lot of conflicting opinion right now regarding whether you can/should/shouldn't use TSA locks on gun cases. Even the TSA people don't know from airport to airport whether TSA locks are "OK" to use on gun cases. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorius triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat. - Theodore Roosevelt
