Man, that's a great bull!

I know that Martin had high hopes for the quality of elephants on Tsholotsho, it looks like he's not going to be disappointed.

I remember back in 1991, hunting the same Tsholotsho area, we saw a bull some 150 yards or so inside the park, with the most unbelievably large set of tusks I have ever been fortunate enough to see.

In the early years of my PH career, and having never witnessed something of this magnitude, I was dumbfounded as to its possible weight, but as clear as the picture is in my mind, and with a few more decades experience under the belt, I can confidently say it was over 120lbs a side.

I often think of what became of him. The client and I actually drove into the park a few days after the sighting, to the parks camp at (excuse the spelling - Josavanini) to enquire about this bull. The scouts knew the elephant, but said he moved in a large area and was not a permanent sighting.

I wouldn't be out of line in my assumptions that his magnificent ivory now adorns some Government officials private residence !!

Congrats on your bull, Ivan's guesstimate at your measurements are correct.

Hey Martin , excellent bull !!!
Best guestimate = 80x81.5 pounds.
Symetric long tusks - could not be better.
