I just wanted to let everyone know that David and Felix have been back on their trek around the borderline of Zimbabwe. They are going through the Eastern Highlands of the northern Zimbabwe/Mozambique border. They are presently heading up the Gairedzi River and will be in Mutare in a few days. If you go to the link below, you will see a map, and if you click on it, you will be taken to a larger map on Google Earth. Google Earth has several modes and will even let you zero in on Victoria Falls like you are flying over it in a helicopter. If you have never looked at this, it is well worth the effort. It is easy to see that David has been through some of the wildest and roughest terrain in Southern Africa. I meant to post this earlier. This is the latest news from David Hulme on the Borderline Walk. Good day to you all. We have reached Mutare and will be heading out again asap since we are now on a roll. I will post more pictures and some kind of report in a couple of days. Right now I have limited time on the internet but need to post this photo which just can't wait. I consider it unforgivable that the war has been over for 30 years and children are still being killed by it, let alone elephants, cattle etc. This little chap was blown up by an AP mine and died 10 minutes after the photo was taken. How helpless I felt when we came across him being ferried into Nyamapanda by ox-cart. We did what we could but he was too far gone already - all bled out. It is shameful that our government has done nothing to clear the killing fields of Nyamapanda for 30 years, choosing rather to spend all the money they have stolen on Mercedes and fancy holiday homes. I will explain everything better when I make a full report but wanted to post this picture for all to ponder. Does anyone know of any mine-clearing organization I could contact? To try and do something about this unacceptable situation? Since the government is never going to do anything I guess it's up to the citizens to make an effort. Sorry for the downer post but I wanted to make this public knowledge asap. Cheers for now, pretty exciting and interesting report and pictures coming your way soon, thanks for your continued support.
