Jumbo kills man (25)

Bulawayo Bureau
October 8, 2008

A 25-year-old man from Drummond Range was trample to death by an elephant in Budia Conservancy in West Nicholson.

The deceased, Thabulani Baloyi, came across a herd of elephants when he was walking with two colleagues in the conservancy on Tuesday at about 9am.
"One of the elephants charged at the trio and his colleagues ran and sought refuge in a mountain. Baloyi, however, failed to escape resulting in him being trampled to death," he said. His terrified friends, who witnessed the incident from the mountain, spent the night at their place of refuge, as they were afraid that the elephants would attack them if they climbed down. .

Proof once again of the old adage that you don't have to outrun an elephant (bear, snake, etc...) you just have to outrun your buddies.

An old man sleeps with his conscience, a young man sleeps with his dreams.
