Heading to Moz this August. 6yo grandson says he wants a croc tooth necklace from Africa. Is this something I can buy locally or am I going to be substituting gator teeth for croc teeth? Plenty of gators here in Florida. I'll be taking him for plains game when he is 12 or 13. He is already a good shot, giving the squirrels a fit with his Red Ryder. He has a Husky sporter in 6.5x55 in the safe for his first trip to Africa. Thanks, Bob

That is great that you have a young hunting partner in the making!! I am no expert but I shot a crock in Tanzania in 2003 so I know they are a CITIES animal. That might make the import of any part of one difficult.

If I were you I would sub gator teeth (only a herpetologist will be able to tell the difference) and save the cash toward the hunt you want to take him on.

Good Luck and once again GOOD FOR YOU TAKING THE YOUNG ONE HUNTING!!

Found a place in SC that does a gator tooth necklace with coral beads, 2in teeth. He will be happy with that as long as nobody on the forum rats me out. Anyway, he won't be on AR for a few years, so I think I'm safe Wink Thanks.
