Dumb question here: I can't seem to get my fax machine to transmit to a number in Namibia, whether I dial just the number, the number preceded by 0 or preceded by 1. Anyone have any clues for a clueless wonder? There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

Try dialing 011 then the country code, etc...

Are you dialling 011 then the country and city codes? If you do a web search for calling Namibia from the US you should get the correct protocol. Looks like I am too slow once agin! ------------------------------- Some Pictures from Namibia Some Pictures from Zimbabwe An Elephant Story

Earlier this week I tried to fax a taxidermist in Windhoek and after 8 tries finally got the fax tone and it started to transmit but then stopped due to "bad line quality". I got an email from them today that said they had been having transmission line problems.

Could you scan the item (or print to PDF) and email it? _____________________ A successful man is one who earns more money than his wife can spend.

Thanks guys. Turns out my Charter phone account also had international calls blocked. Just love the 21st century ... There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

This is a very handy web site for figuring out international dialing. http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/dialing.html ______________________ I don't shoot elk at 600 yards for the same reasons I don't shoot ducks on the water, or turkeys from their roosts.
