Hi Guys, For thse of you in various places in Africa is the Vulturine Guinnea a game species? I was hoping that perhaps someone might know where I could get hold of some of the neck feathers for tying salmon flies. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, FB

I reckon the easiest way for you to get some of these would be to contact the rare breeds trust in Reading Berkshire. BDS used to have an office there as well but I think they moved elsewhere. If you have problems contacting them try the BDS as they'll probably have a number.......

Last year my cousin shot a pair in the jungle in the CAR and the skinners made a fine work. When the head PH saw these vulturine guinea fowl's hides and show them the taxidermist who had come with us in Africa, both of them burnt the skinned vulturine guinea fowl immediately. They are no game, they are endangered and protected..........although quite abundant in some places. J B de Runz Be careful when blindly following the masses ... generally the "m" is silent

They are completely protected in Ethiopia. BTW, they taste just like regular guinea fowl. Rich Elliott Rich Elliott Ethiopian Rift Valley Safaris
