My favourite hunting book of all time is 'Heart of the Hunter' by Edison Marshall. This famous novelist of long ago writes of his progression from a boy shooting ducks up to hunting in the North Woods to hunting Brown Bears in Alaska to hunting with Bwana Cottar and finally hunting tigers in French Indo China and then the famous tigers of India.

Fascinating.

He tells of an isolated trapper who loved fine books and who would pace himself on a fine read so that it would last as long as possible to get maximum enjoyment out of it.

Great advice and I believe everyone should write a book on their lives. Everyone is interesting.

Be that as it may, I could not follow Mr. Marshall's trapper friend. I literally blew through this book that my lovely lady gave me for Christmas.

Well done, Mr. Charlton. The great animals, the action filled hunts, and the unforgettable characters …

A great read on an ongoing life being well lived.

Bravo!
