WillLiving the Good Life- REVISED
I stole a four minute piece of video from Ann Horsman's 2005 safari that included a short sequence of the Buzzard and Barnyard (Buzz Charlton and Peter Barnard) following up another client's wounded lion.
It is not a nail-biter or anything like that but a bit of the life lived by a couple great PH's and it also funny as hell in a couple spots. The lucky bastards!
Send me $5 to cover the cost of the disk, case and postage and I'll make some copies.
I tried to post the video here but can't figure out how to do it.

WillSince I don't know what I am doing!, the clip I uploaded the first time was not the right file. I tried uploading another one but it is too large (364 Mb). There is a 100 Mb limit.
I will go back and try to cut it down and upload it again. I have not given up (yet).

Bill CCool Bill!
Buzz told me of a wounded buffalo that he shot off the end of his .416 end of last year I think, said it all slowed down and he remembered thinking "Hey this is not that difficult". Only got the tail end of it on video, but I am sure it will be in his book!

PalmerI enjoyed the video and especially seeing the teamwork between Buzz and Barnard.
Do you know what rifles and calibers they chose for this follow up?

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Buzz has used a Ruger 416 Rigby for years and Peter something in 416 Rem. Peter may have been shooting some of the handloads I gave him!

Pete has a well-used FN Mauser rebarrelled to .416 Remington... this is the best picture I have of it. I actually used it to shoot the kudu in the picture and a buffalo! No, it's not stainless

just really broken in!
Buzz and Pete are great friends now but get them together to talk about their school days and you will laugh your ass off! They didn't much care for each other back then... schoolboy rivalrys I guess. Or maybe there weren't many girls around so competition was keen!
Great piece of film showing the guys together in a hairy situation Will and Ann!
On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

john ePeter and Buzz are two fantastic PH's and a real treat to hunt with. Two very serious guys....very serious about hunting and very serious about having fun in the bush.
Hunting with these two guys is indeed a great combo, you will not be disappointed!
Heard from Peter recently and he will be at SCI in Reno, but not in Dallas or Houston. I'm not sure which both he'll be tending, but I'll pass that info along when available.
