Well even though I'm saying the same thing, I have a B&C (tan spiderweb)on my custon VZ24 Mauser in 275 Rigby. This one does not have the aluminum plate but was well bedded by the gunsmith, it has held up well for the two years I've had it and I would definately buy another one.

I've had one of the older B&C on a Rem Model 700 ADL 7mm Mag for over 15 years. It's held up very well and I wouldn't hesitate to get another. Matter of fact, I've been thinking of putting one on my 375 H&H. Good product in my opinion. Mac

I've had quite a few different brands of synthetic stocks, including ones with the aluminum bedding block. With the block, I still like to "skim-bed" with acraglass just to ensure a good fit. Some might consider this going too far, but I've never had a problem with it and all rifles have shot well. Just my thoughts. Max

Maxman: I recently built a .458WM on a VZ 24 action and looked at many synthetic stocks. This is to be an iron sighted rifle. I decided on a B&C Medalist stock for a number of reasons. I liked the full length aluminum bedding, cast off and drop of stock for iron sights, and color and finish(Tan Web). I contacted them directly as I did not want a front swivel stud and talked to the floor foreman, Dustin I believe, for a long time regarding my project. He told me that I could go through Cabelas custom order department for the stock I wanted for much less cost than buying directly from them. Pretty good customer service in my book. As you may know, B&C makes the stocks for Weatherby including the ones used for their DGR in .378 and .460. Needless to say, it worked fine in my rifle. My stock is the same construction it just does not have the Weatherby look, ie. Monte Carlo hump, etc. I am very pleased with the result. I added a 11 oz. mercury reducer for weight and balance in the butt as well as recoil reduction and added a spacer to increase LOP to my measurements. The rifle mounts smoothly and the NECG sights align perfectly for my use. A little inletting was done in the barrel channel for the bigger tube of the .458 and a barrel recoil lug was inletted and glassed. The inletting for the action was very close. No filler needed just a little removal arond the floor plate and tang for my action. Overall, I am very pleased with stock, customer service of B&C and Cabelas, and the final rifle. Check them out for yourself. Good luck. RCG

RCG Thanks, funny cuz the tan spider web stock is exactly what I am looking at. What do you think of the aluminum bedding process? I am mainly curious on comparison to standard glass bedding.
