Not where I normally think of a 100# coming from.

Can you give us any more details?

Out of interest more 100 lbs ele have been shot in Zimbabwe in the last few years then ever before. This should be a point of celebration for successful conservation and NOT a witch hunt or a point for the antis to get on their high horse!

Which simply means that conservation works
Just looking at North American model as more record trophies/older animal hunted then ever before
The adage nowadays are “ the old days are here and now “Thanks to mostly hunting conservation groups and dedicated hunters and their state wildlife departments

Is the one in Plumtree the one shot by the guy from NZ? If not, a friend from NZ killed one he told me was 99lbs in July somewhere in the area up around Vic Falls somewhere. I have a pic of it but not to be shared.

Plumtree is on the south end of Hwange...Vic Falls is on the north end. If near Vic Falls...likely not the same.

I want a big bull and am looking at Tanzania, Botswana and Namibia. I'm looking at a pretty dedicated trip, although if I went to Masailand, I might take a light rifle for oryx.

I just reread Elgin Gates book, Trophy hunter in Africa. He hunted with J. B. Blacklaws PH for several years. He recounts several elephant hunts. To make a very long story short I will list those hunts he recounts in the book. First he talks about a 85 pounder on each side. Then recounts a hunt with one that had 106 on one side and 109 on the other. Another was 140 and 141 each side. His final one was a monster with 176 and 181 on each side in Ugonda on the Nile river. A very good read on other animals in Africa but the Elephant hunts were really special. Good Shooting.
