Ladies and Gentlemen,

 -

Our crew at the hunting camp.
Willem, Dwight, Richard, Pierre, Annaleigh, Anna-Marie, Jim, Alan, Abu, Walter, Saeed, Sakasa, Ray and our driver whose name I have forgotten!

Our hosts, Annaleigh and Pierre, made sure we were all very confortable in camp, despite Walter's presence. Breakfast was served to the hunters either at 5 or 6 in the morning, depending on how early we wanted to leave camp.

Those who stayed behind ordered whatever they wished whenever they felt like it.

We normally stayed out all day, sometimes not getting back to camp until 11 at night. Lunch was usually packed sandwiches, unless Walter was with us. In which case he had special breakfast and lunch prepared for him.

Bacon and eggs for breakfast, which he liked to have around 10. He got mad after he asked Pierre to stop for breakfast, and I vetoed that idea. He had to eat his breakfast on the back of the truck.

Lunch is normally served in the shade of a tree from around 1 to 5.30 in the afternoon - depending on the buffalos.

On several occassions, as soon as we started looking for a place to have lunch, someone sees buffalos. Of course, lunch is soon forgotten, and depending on how quickly we manage to get to those buffalos - which have taken from 1 to 4 hours, lunch had to wait.

Our camp. My tent to the left, with Ray's next door, then the mess hall and more tents on the other side.

We got visited by lions a few times, and hyenas almost every night.

The hippos never stop their laugh all night.

A left and right side views from our camp on the Kilombero River.

We all had a great time. Ray tried teaching Walter to robe a buffalo, then they decided for that they needed a horse. So Walter insisted on Ray to robe him! He got down on his knees and started clawing the ground - just like a mad bull. That did not work. So Walter tried stood by the mess hut; saying "moo, moo". He got robed.

Great pics! The group shot probably should be titled, "Wanted in 17 Bank Robberies!" or something like that. Reminds me of the Dirty Dozen, The Wild Bunch or maybe, better, "(Not so) Young Guns"... the guys, that is...

As the next governor or California said, "I'll be back!".

If it weren't for the women, and the driver, and the very hansome Walter Hog, this picture would pass for the homeless bums from under the High five bridge in Dallas! [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Do you mean Walter was running around camp nude?! That would sure ruin my safari.

Great pictures Saeed. Looks like a very comfortable camp.

I am curious, has Dwight "slimmed up" since your last hunt together? I think I recognize his face from your videos but he appears to have lost a few inches.

Cheers,
Canuck

Canuck,

Yes sir Dwight lost a lot of pounds.

We gave him a choice, either stay in camp and keep Walter's compnay, or walk along with us in teh bush.

He decided loosing a 100 pounds was a small price to pay to keep him away from Walter [Big Grin]

I've got stacks of photos, and will try digging out some of Ray and Walters adventures and post them here.
