We'll be in Reno next week, in our booth as we have been since 19-whatever. Speficically booth 435/437.

Please come and say hello, rest your legs, buy us a coke ... or (obviously) book a safari with us in Mozambique Wink Every man and his dog is selling Mozambique safaris these days, but a limited number of these folks actually have rights themselves to the limited number of game farms and proclaimed hunting areas - the Coutadas. (Obviously there are a number of bona fide booking agents and some outfitters working with us marketing our safaris.) As we are one of the "fortunate few" as we hold the rights to Coutada 10, I'll be glad to point out the what's & where's of Mozambique if you are interested.

Our website have been updated with some of the 2009 pictures, so please have a look at www.bahati.co.za and let me know what you think!

The annual migration to SCI Reno is on ... see you there!

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Brett,

Johan has waterbuck like you will never see anywhere else. If you go out on the flood plain you'll see hundreds each day and big herds of bulls. I shot mine with Bahati out a group of 34 bulls. 30" plus is very possible. I'm sure this is the best waterbuck hunintg in Africa.

I thought you were supposed to ply us with cheap liquor and those silicone sisters to get us to sign up for a big hunt?
See you there...

Mark is quite correct and you're right - they are big. We have really good Waterbuck - arguably the best anywhere. Everything taken is over 28" and probably averages at about 29/30". We've had a few 34/35's. The size is nice, but what is better and something very special is looking at over 100 bulls in a herd where 40 or so will make book ...

Everyone might want to plan a little extra time getting to Reno. I live 2 hours west of there and we have one of the biggest storms of tne winter headed our way. We're supposed to get 4 straight days of rain here in the valley, which will mean a bunch of new snow in the Sierras. It is supposed to rain from Sunday clear into Wednesday, and then clear off and be beautiful.

You Africans who like to snow ski couldn't hit it much more perfectly for our Lake Tahoe resorts.
