In Guns and Ammo's 2002 anual they have a page on foreign cartridges. For the 9.3x62 mauser they list a 293 grain TUG bullet at 2515 ft/sec at the muzzle and muzzle energy of 4110 ft/lbs. But who is the ammo maker(not listed) and what exactly is the TUG? Is it a RN or spitzer?

Try this link: www.brenneke.de/brenneke_engl/web/new_prod2.html and choose "Rifle bullets"

The ammunition is loaded by RWS, a big german ammomaker. (Sorry, I dont know the URL.)

Best regards,

Fritz

ALF,

interesting information about the TUG. However, the brass pin isnt used in todays version. It has just a simple lead tip.

Another remarkable feature of this bullet is that it isnt made for expansion. On the contrary, the purpose of the construction is to reduce mushrooming and to increase penetration. Many German bullet fashions have this purpose, as the TIG, the H-Mantel and the Doppelkerngeschoss.

Best regards,

Fritz
