Woman dies in croc attack

A WOMAN from Chitomborwizi in Zvimba was attacked and killed by a crocodile while doing laundry along Hunyani River.

In another incident, a 10-year-old girl from Mhondoro drowned while she was swimming with her friends in Mupfure River.

In the first incident, Thabitha Yambe of Farm 4, Chitomborwizi small-scale commercial farming area, went to Hunyani River to bathe and wash clothes with her niece Rumbidzai Modzonerwa (5).

As she was bathing, she was suddenly attacked by the crocodile and killed while her niece watched helplessly.

The girl ran to inform the elders at home and police were called to the scene.

Mashonaland West police spokesperson Inspector Paul Nyathi confirmed the attack.
