Flying to JBurg on Delta. Worth spending the money for premium select versus economy comfort. About a $2000 price difference. Any experience using Africa Sky for concierge service ? Recommended service ?

I've used both Africa Sky and Afton House on numerous occasions, and not had a problem with either. They both have competent concierge services. I would recommend either of them. Economy comfort should do you, especially if you can save 2K.

My last 2 Delta flights to JoBerg I was in Delta Comfort and was happy with the seat, I'm 5"11" 250# if that helps. Afton House, and Mr. X are my go to people, excellent service.

The Delta seats are definitely not worth the extra money. I did it last year and it was a very minimal difference IMO for the money

Book thru Gracy Travel and use their service at OR TEMBO. It will be the best money you've ever spent.

Save yourself some time and hassle. Stay right across the street from the policy station at OR TEMBO at City Lodge. Easy Peasy! OR if you want higher end stay at the Intercontinental in the same building. Whichever you choose eat dinner at Quills in the Intercontinental. Very Nice.

Mark makes some very good points. I've also stayed at both the Intercontinental and at City Lodge as well. I have had dinner at Quills and it was good. Of the two listed above, I personally prefer City Lodge. City Lodge has a very nice buffet (or did). They also had an outstanding breakfast buffet (or did). Not sure now on both of those now. The City Rooms are nice, but spartan, but you only need it to sleep in. The Intercontinental Rooms are nicer, but again, you're spending one night and the room is mainly for sleep. You can still hire a meet and greet to assist you even if you stay at Intercontinental or City Lodge. Gracy will arrange that as well. Gracy's meet and greet go to, Bruce, is the best in the business in my estimation. However, if you want some 'African ambience and feel', then Africa Sky or Afton House would be your better choices.

I have booked my flight through Travel With Guns and they recommended the Africa Sky option. Get in around 7pm not sure how long to clear customs etc. Just need a nice clean room to sleep.

Stay at City Lodge if you're on your way out the next morning. If you've planned an extra day in Joberg and can really enjoy what Africa Sky has to offer, then spend the money. It is worth it, a great staff from Vincent at the airport to every person on the staff.

And Vincent, at Africa Sky is not far behind! I recall years ago when Vincent was new at the job and we were staying at Africa Sky. He puts his heart and soul into being one of the best as well.
