I just re-booked with a great PH, John Sharp for a buffalo hunt in 05 up in Dande province. Anybody hunted up there? I read it's a completely different landscape than the Lowveld where I hunted last time. jorge

We went to the Dande Concession Sept. 1996, for buffalo with PH Peter Rorke.
At that time, there were several herds of buffalo and some good elephants that we have on video. It is a great area, very rugged terrain. My husband shot this one on the first day.
In my opinion, you made a great choice hunting Dande.

Thanks for the tip Kathi. I admit I was disappointed we weren't going to hunt Matetsi for Buffalo, especially with the added cost ( 1100 US) for the air charter, but I'm excited now! THe balacne of our safari will be down in the Lowveld area ( where I am familiar) in the Malangani Conservancy. jorge

I hunted the Dande area in 1999 with Ingwe Safari's and then went to Lions Den for Kudu. The area we hunted was a Campfire area and was pretty rich with game. We saw quite a few Elephants, a couple of lions up close and a lot of assorted plains game for a dangerous game area. Even saw a couple of Roan. There were a lot of buffalo and I shot an old Dagga boy. You'll have a great time as it is like Africa of the past.

I hunted right next door in Chewore South with Roger Whittal
,lots of buffalo,elephant,quite a few lion,plains game was spotty however.We had a big buffalo run into the Dande area and we didn't see him again. Maybe you will.
