Today has been a very difficult day as it brings to rest many days and nights of anguish hoping for the right opportunity to find a spot to go elephant hunting this year possibly next. Unfortunately, the right opportunity did not arise as I have been and remain confused on import legalities etc and when my neighbors farm was offered to me for sale I decided to throw in the towel and buy it. I am excited about the additional farm but disappointed I spent my fun money for another African hunt on the purchase. Hopefully, the additional commitment will go well and grain prices will be good, my health will maintain and I will find myself looking at ivory again in the near future. Pheasants shot with a twenty gauge side by side will have to do for the near future.

What's wrong with that? Honestly, if I had the choice between expanding my empire with buying a neighboring property over a hunt, I would have done the same.

Hang in there Bob

Think tuskless. Less expensive, at least as exciting.
I’ve taken a couple of bulls, doubt I’ll do another, it’s tuskless for me at this point.

I thought Namibia and South Africa were the only countries that were importable to the U.S. South Africa not being a good option and as a result, Namibia being extraordinarily expensive. Hopefully Botswana will reopen and USF&W will get reasonable.

With Trump in office and calling the shots on that “horror show”, there are 2 chances on USFWS reversing itself- slim and none.....
