first of all, I gotta see will in that catch me, screw me, pimp hat! My nostalgia is pretty much limited to rifles and shotguns..and I much prefer the American wool cap as pictured, its the cowboy way in Idaho, and works a lot better in 3 foot of snow and a 60 mile an hour wind, so pip pip, bloody hell and do tell, I'll take comfort over style!

No sense in payin' any mind t'Ray, he's just makin' sure we all know he's a colonial, don'tcherknow. A Norfolk jacket? Spot of all right, that, what? Try this tailor chappie: www.cudworthofnorden.co.uk/index.php/cat/gents/1672/ I suspect that in the modern way, yer better not try gettin' off not payin' him.

Congratulations on your first. Kids are a source of joy and helps to teach one patience and the fatherly (provider) instinct. I must admit I had a hard time relating to my two children until they were old enough to carry on an intelligent converstion. Am I suppose to admit such a thing on the internet?

One of the most stylish jackets I wear is a "Norfolk" jacket in tweed. EVERYONE comments on it, but I understand it is hard to get, now, even in England! Peter.

Isn't that the jacket that has the 2 extra strips of fabric up and down the front and back of the jacket? I think at one time they had an integral belt. Back in the old days even LL Bean used to sell them. The only place I see them now is in old movies. Somebody know of any suppliers????

You are welcome Will. I am not normally inclined to generosity but I am in good spirits tonight as I became a proud father of a baby girl yesterday. My first! You can keep the Stormy Kromer thanks. That is one part of American culture that I am not prepared to embrace at any price!

Deerdogs, Thanks for the offer. When I get the one from Cabelas I will see if it fits. It is supposedly made in Scotland (or Ireland, I forget). I'll get back to you. Hey, in return I could send you a Stormy Kromer hat (see Cabelas web site). I assure you that you would be the only one in the UK wearing one!

Actually my Norfolk jacket is being made as this is written. It took some doing to find a maker in the UK. And with a matching pair of knickers (breeks) it just makes me want to hug Ray!! ------------------------------- Will Stewart / Once you've been amongst them, there is no such thing as too much gun. --------------------------------------- and, God Bless John Wayne. Sarge, A bit difficult to understand your post, old boy. Is something screwed up, or have you found a bottle of the mess port...? Deerdogs, my sincere congratulations to your daughter! Unfortunately it doesn't look like they expect any business from the "big man"!

This is an old thread from '04. I'm not sure where it suddenly came from. It had to do with someone looking for an original Norfork jacket. I think that my posting is actually well down the second page. Wonder where the rest went? Anyway, Deerdogs, my congradulations as well. I like children so much that I borrow 32 other peoples five day's a week. But then, I get to send them home again at 2:30!
