A true statement at the time. That was weeks ago by the way. Since then SCI and DSC have been well engaged and trying to make a difference. The contribution here has largely been rhetoric, noise and the ad nauseam SCI criticism.

I am so glad to see both SCI and DSC have had a drastic change of heart since the 6th of this month!

And I bet SCI will claim credit for this, which amounts to nothing.

Any hunter who had already shot an elephant before this came up would have sued the USFWS and won in no time.

So far nothing have been achieved.
I will keep my fingers cross and hope for the best.

Saeed's statement is 100% correct.

Their lawyers quickly realized this as a mistake and the legal department issued a change. It had NOTHING to do with anything thing else. Everyone should realize this and NOT view it as any sign of anything...cause it is not.

Lane,

I have brought this up several times with little to no response.

How do we unite duck hunters and elephant hunters?

Until some vehicle is formed or existing one is enhanced that reaches the level of fervor of the NRA we are sitting ducks...sorry.

Jeff

I agree with you 100%.

I am busier than hell right now. I have no time for much of anything but work. This is important enough that I am going to head to Washington. If we sit around and do nothing, we are going to lose. Wars are rarely won with the first shot. I don't expect the USFWS to roll over after the event in DC. However, I expect they will know that there will be a battle.

I am very disappointed at the turnout for this event. Like SCI or not, at least they are trying. I can't believe a single one of us has any issue with the cause in this case yet a total of approximately 70 have signed up from SCI's ranks including 5 here on AR.

Unless...I declare bankruptcy and shut my doors of my hospital...there is no way I can go on these dates. I would be there in a heart-beat at a different time. I went to everyone (sometimes just Aaron and I representing tourist hunters) held on lion.

I just don't have another surgeon to cover that time slot...nothing to do with cost of going.

Lane:

I completely understand and in no way fault you. However , only 5 out of 45,000 members is not much of a turnout.

Jeff,
I know the above for a fact. I am not up on the polar bear issue...were there retro-active dates with that moratorium?

Jeff,
I know the above for a fact. Was not into the polar bear issue.

Well I hardly think the USFWS is being magnanimous in this decision based on other actions such as Polar Bear. Where the bear was dead at the taxidermist and USFWS retuned my thousand for my Polar Bear after retroactively closing it and telling me to piss off.

Maybe they learned their lesson from before...not sure. But...I have credible intel that says that is why they did it this time.

Don't know what lesson they have learned. They have stuck to their guns all the way. Supreme Court Docket is next. Whether the Supremes choose to hear it is another thing. They haven't backed down in 6 years and all we want to do is import bears already dead prior to the closure. That and the fact that USFWS currently has seized by shipment from Zim from last year it's probably not a good time for me to discuss thses things.

Maybe they feel they are wasting time on fighting the retro-active stuff and just decided to make it pro-active only...where their stance is solid. Which is exactly what I was told.
