Just got word through the African grapevine that another PH was hit by a buffalo just yesterday. Details are thirdhand and quite sketchy but I think it is a Zimbo by the name of Felix and that the wounds are of a critical nature.

Sorry I have no more details but I expect more info will be available shotly.

Wow! What a tough year this has been.

Now hearing the PH is Felix Wannaberger of Namibia and that he is scheduled for surgery this morning.

Gored in the pelvis and lower back.

His name is Felix Marnewecke with Camelthorn Safaris, Vaughn Fulton sent me a FB message this am. I was supposed to hunt with him in July but had to cancel my trip. No details other than he is in hospital

Hope he will recovers and best wishes

I was afraid it was Felix Marnewecke when I saw EyeDoc's second post above. I don't know Felix but my Namibian PH's Vaughan Fulton and Thorsten Myer spoke of him a good bit and had great things to say about him. If I am not mistaken, I believe he hunts Bushmanland now.

Prayers for a speedy recovery.

George

Is he in Harare? Do they have good surgeons there?

Where did this occur? There has been an unconfirmed report from Nyakasanga.

This is a rough year to be a PH. All Ph's should seek the local witch doctor's blessings.

I hunted with Felix a few years ago. He is a great guy. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. Hope he makes a full recovery.

Hunted with him in 09. One of the best guys you will ever share a camp with and a great PH as well. Best wishes to him for a speedy and full recovery.
