I have unfinished business with a zebra in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Also a Cape bushbuck would be nice along with some driven guinea fowl, perhaps? Parker-Hale .404 and Browning Citori Featherweight 12.

Had a great safari in Chirisa, Zim in 2004 with HHK (elephant.lioness,2 buff,...) so was planning a return for August 2006 to Chete. However, there seems to be a lot of potential controversy around HHK at present & there is the always volatile Zim political picture to think about. I am hoping some of this will get clearer by SCI when HHK sets up their booth & can answer these questions directly.
If this falls through I will scramble to try & arrange something else for 18 days as we have already purchased airline tickets to Joberg.
Will take my 450/400 NE Lancaster Double & Dakota 416 Rigby. Regardless, I will continue to read about & dream of DG hunting through the winter (it was -16 last nite!)

Counting the days until Sept. when I am headed to Zimbabwe for 14 days with Russ Broom. Am after buffalo (perhaps 2) and leopard primarily with hopes that we will be able to go after a problem elephant. Sable, eland and a bushbuck would also be nice.

450NE No 2,

Wow! Need a gun bearer?

I'm probably going in Oct for three or four or five tuskless, plus a big Southern Bushbuck, an Nyala and a shot at a leopard, though it will be very late for good cat hunting.

Right now it is NZ for Thar and Chamois, red stag, then off to OZ to hunt water buff at GanGan with my friend Matt Grahm. I am looking at adding either Rusa in New Caledonia or Banteng in another area of native lands in OZ. Unfortunately I will have to choose. Unless I would get extremely lucky there would not be enoug time for everything. This will all be in July. I have a quick one week trip to Argentina in June that was postponed this year because of family issues.

The only way I will make it back to africa this year is if my darling wife consents or I hit the lottery. I am anxiously waiting to see what happens with the Sudan this year.

Thanks, Who are you planning to hunt with? I am going to be with MAtt Graham and Bob Penfold. I will also stop for a few days to see MAtt Hall and Shane Quinn. Like you I will shoot a lot of the night critters as well. I also have a week I can use at Reel Hunting, Mike and Julie Hodder's place. I dont know if I will use it this year and extend this trip or wait until next year.

Jungleboy: I have an uncle who's in his 80s now that lives in Sheridan (well Big Horn actually). He's a retired doctor. He's the one that got me hooked on africa at an early age. As far as plans for 06, nothing cooking yet, but if I draw a moose tag, it'll be to our place in Maine. A return Africa trip is not until 08. jorge

Cats,

Thanks, looking forward to doing some critters for you!

I'm hunting with Gerald & Sue Telford in NZ. I met them at the Reno show a few years ago, made some really nice friends, can't wait to go visit with them.

Here's their web site: http://www.flyfishhunt.co.nz/

I'm excited about going over, I want to make a trip to OZ, maybe a few days there before heading over to NZ

As far as Africa is concerned, we're headed to Zimbabwe at the end of July for a 14-day plainsgame safari with Roger Whittall at Humani. I may add some time, if possible, for some hunting in Chewore for buffalo, etc. I haven't decided on that possibility yet......

I've rebooked with Garry Kelly in RSA for a return engagement with vaal rhebok and to see if we can pick up some of the little guys like suni, and a couple of duikers. I'm still without a really nice greater kudu and perhaps Garry can help with that.

On the way back from RSA we are spending a week in Scotland for a traditional stag hunt and I'm actually as excited about that as I am Africa.
