I'm thinking of hunting buffalo this year. What is your opinion on Zim? Would you go without hesitation? Are there any areas you would avoid?Looking forward to some good advise and reports.

I would go without the slightest hesitation. I have been a bunch of times. About 15 to Zim alone.

As with any country, some areas are better than others. Same for outfitters.

I have shot a lot of buff in Zim, a hell of a lot actually.

Zip up to the BVC barely north of Beitbridge post. Hunt with Nigel Theisen, nigeltheisen@gmail.com, you will have a blast.

There are great areas and good outfitters in Zimbabwe. Do your research on the areas and species you are looking for and book with any of the above and you will have a great hunt

I second Ledvm's suggestion of going to Bubye. Hunted out of Nengo Camp last June and had a ball chasing buffalo and plains game. Nigel would be a great choice for buff on the conservancy. Its a special place.

I'll be hunting in SA this year and going to Zim for two weeks to vacation and maybe some plains game. Zim is a great place to go and I will do so again without hesitation and 2019 is in the planning stage--again in Zim.
The last two years I hunted with Wayne van den Bergh and have sent other gents to hunt with him. A friend, Mike, took an outstandign buffalo with Wayne last year. I would recommend him highly.

You could also look at the Matetsi or Deka area. Its only 1 hour drive from Vic Falls and fantastic hunting. Very convenient

Cheers
