Gentlemen, and Lady Ann, thanks for the well wishes. I am really looking forward to this trip. It is my second Safari to Zimbabwe.
I have been on Safari with my videographer Ian before, and have spent a fair amount of time with my PH Dale Des Fountain.
Ian and Dale are friends from Harare in Zim, the 3 of get along great so it should be fun.
After all the whole point of hunting is to have fun, with a little of adventure thrown in. Big Grin

Judge, see you soon. thumb

Good hunting!!!

I am happy when we will read more from your adventure! clap

Man I hope the helium doesn't leak, else you will have lots of ammo weight problems. Great idea if it works out.

Folks:

Tony and I had a great trip from Atlanta to Jo'burg. He had an empty seat next to him on a bulkhead and I had two empty next to me without a seat in front (so lots of leg room and even enough for a "bed"). During the flight, we'd check in with each other every few hours and have a scotch or two. We both got lots of sleep and ate breakfast together. Both of us were so darn excited sounded like old hens in a coop, just constantly clucking about various nonsense. We had a few toasts to Saeed, Don and the rest of you folks who make this site possible. I'd never had the pleasure these past few years of knowing Tony (or his even being on the same plane) if you folks didn't make it possible. I'll take a sip of Bell's to you know, btw!

Optima met me at the end of the ramp (but not Tony for some reason) and my transfer to Zimbabwe was seemless. I'll post more about my hunt when I get home (I'm in the Premier Lounge now) and have a plane in a few minutes, but needless to say (since I'm already going home), there is one less elephant eating maize tonight.

There just is nothing better than the thump, thump of a .470... followed by a earthquake shake of an elephant hitting the ground at 16 yards.

I've got some good pics, too.

See you first of next week!

Wish me extra space on the Spam-Can back to ATL.

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.
