Having George post here was a tremondous boon to me and doubtless to many others. Loved his book, and I am positive that I would have loved the man, had I ever been privileged to meet him. A great loss.

I only met George Hoffman once briefly at Dallas Safari Club show. My sympathy to the Hoffman family and friends. In the old Destroyer Navy When it was better than Well Done. We flew. Bravo X-ray “Splice the main brace”
I shall do so at sundown. Gods speed. Doyle

It is with absolute shock and sadness that I received the news of Georges passing. He remained a true friend to the last. Goodbye George . I have good memories of you. You have left us with a good caliber and I know that a part of you will always walk the plains of Africa. We will remember you. My deepest sympathy to the family. They have lost a great man.
God be with you all.

I had the opportunity to talk with George a bit, at the last two Dallas Safari Club shows. We have all lost a great friend. So very sad. Condolences to the family...... Regards, Terry Pringle
I never had the pleasure of meeting George, but have loved reading his book and feel as if I know him personally from his writing. As indicated by his many friends on this forum, he will be sadly missed and long remembered, but it should be a major comfort to his family and close friends that he lived the life he wanted and apparently achieved fulfillment in doing it. May we all aspire to his accomplishments in that regard.

The passing away of a great hunting figure always strikes the hardest with the hunters he left behind but I'm sure that he will enjoy his time in the hunters paradise with the rest of the greats !

Although we never met I got to know you from reading your book. Having read your words I feel as though we have shared many campfires, sundowner in hand. Rest in peace.
In Botswana, they still recalled fondly "George Hoffman" and his "special rifle" with great respect, around the campfire, as lions roared in the distance. He is missed around the world.

Condolences to the Hoffman family. George was a very lucky man to have lived the life so many would wish for and to be respected and admired by those of us that will never have the chance. Thanks you George for the many adventures through your writings and posts. With great respect, Dave
George will be missed at this camp fire, but we all look forward to visiting with him in the cool of the evening, in that place where there is no pain or suffering. Rest well, George. You have fought the good fight, run the good race. Thank you for all you have given us.
The passing of a great man...A hunter, whom many of us only wish we could have met...His book and our memories of his love of hunting will forever keep George in our hearts...

Condolences to the family. I spent the 4th of June hunting in the Kalahari; this is the first thing I read on AccurateReloading this morning. George's Safari is now over as well.
I will never forget my conversation with Mr. Hoffman at the Dallas show this year. I purchased one of his books and we spoke as he was signing it. He was such a kind gentleman. He spoke about hunting Africa with my 8 year old twin girls for several minutes. They were mesmerized. Heck, so was I!
