I thought everyone could use a bit of africa for today. This happened to my friend PH Jumbo moore in zim 3 years ago. Jumbo hunts several concessions and leaves camp staff at the vacant ones where he isn't there. On 2 of the concessions he has lion permits, and had a lion hunter. With 2 places and 1 hunter they were hunting both concessions. While at one he left his tracker sampson at the other. Somehow he incurred the wrath of the SPCA lady, who came out to the camp sampson was at. Jumbo had procured a live donkey to use as lion bait, which is common pratice in this area. The SPCA lady did not approve of this, and told sampson that he could not use a live donkey as lion bait. The conversation went something like: you cannot use a live donkey as bait. But everyone uses live donkey as bait. you cannot use this live donkey as bait. but we have gotten him as bait. you cannot use a live donkey as bait. Well african mentality being as it is, sampson picked up his ax and wacked the donkey in the head, the blood splattered all over the SPCA lady. Now can we use him as bait?? Needless to say the SPCA lady was a bit upset. Jumbo being 25 miles or so away all of sudden gets a message on the radio. Boss we might have a problem. He headed to the other camp to be greeted by the authorities. Seems as the SPCA lady went directly to town and complained loudly. Jumbo told sampson that he didn't have anything to do with it and that it was sampsons problem. The reply was simply that it was jumbos problem because he was white and sampson was black. Well a court date was set on a trumped up charge, which jumbo would not agree to accept. Thus it went on for awhile. Finally he appeared before the judge. His attorney wispered to him that for only 50,000 he would make the case disappear. But how about the other attorney and the judge? Don't worry about them they're in on it. Anyway the end result was that jumbo paid about a $10 US fine some something and the whole case was dismissed. The morale of this is that if yu get a call that says Boss we might have a problem, you should probably head for the hills.

I think maybe Sampson hit the wrong jackass for bait.

Or Jumbo needs to keep a pack saddle in each camp, never needs to use it, just have it for show.

Only problem I see is that Samson hit the wrong ass in the head with the axe.

Anyone know if SPCA ladies make good lion bait?

ETA: Oops, looks like Hog Killer beat me to it. Strange that so many have the same opinion of the SPCA!
