Wolfgar- the cat was not weighed or measured but estimated to be 7'2" and 160 pounds. I had the opportunity to shoot another one a couple of days earlier but Alister (PH AKA Catman) said not to shoot that he could get me a better cat-and, he did!

The croc picture is of them feeding on the Leopard carcass after skinning etc. That was a neat sight to see.

I was very happy to score on the Cookson's Wildebeest as I now have 3 of the species.

I will get to full report soon. Just to much to do at work right now.

John,

Make no mistake I will hold shooting the grybok against you forever. Those little buggers gave me fits on 2 safaris. You were very lucky. The others I fully expected you to get. Mr. Spots was particularly nice. Had an adult male on bait and passed looking for a larger one! Do you know how many places you can do that? Not many and this is a daylight only hunting area. Very cool!

Mark- yes I know I was lucky running into the Grysbok. He will be a full body mount for sure.
Passing on that first Leopard was very difficult but Alister assured me that we could get a bigger one. By my watch, he was taken at 6:03 pm. It doesn't get dark until 6:30. Having to hunt cats during daylight hours had me concerned but it worked out well. No prebaiting is allowed either.
He started coming to the bait (a Puku) at 5:45 pm and layed down right next to us before proceeding to the bait. A very thrilling moment!

Congratulations John for a very successful safari. What an exciting time - especially with a leopard beside the blind as dark approached.

John,
Congratulations on a super safari! I just had the feeling you and Scott were going to do very well in collecting your trophies after spending 10 days prior to your arrival in the area! The leopard is a sod and the Cookson's is a great addition and RARE! I had the opportunity to see them twice and had one shot I passed to stay on buff tracks... too bad we can't see into the future or he would have been in trouble. Congratulations again on a fine adventure and some excellent trophies! Look forward to catching up with you and Scott in Dallas!

Nice trophies,30ott6, especially the cat, and Cookson's! IMO,there is no place in Africa that is better for Leopard than the Luangwa Valley of Zambia, even with the daylight rule! I've seen as many as three in one day in broad daylite while driveing around looking for buffalo tracks!

The Cookson's are beautiful animals, and larger than most wildebeast!

CONGRATULATIONS on your success! beer

What concession did you hunt?

If you send me a full-size file photo I can probably do a bit better.
