Have booked a elephant/croc hunt with Buzz and the team for October.Will be going with my brother-in-law and an old mate who has a couple of safaris under the belt.I will be after tuskless and Roland is after a Moz croc.Matt brings the cameras these days-and the bottle opener!
As a build up to the hunt we did our usual foray to the NT.12 buffalo between us ,including a first by my 15 yr old daughter and 12 year old son.Robert Tritten was the PH( R&R outfiters email rgt375@bigpond.com ).Robert and I go back some years and he is top shelf.But this was a true bush hunt,no flushing toilets or hot showers.The kids were great.If there are any hunting fathers out there who fancy a trip to Australia Robert and his wife Gorgia (and their kids ) will make it great adventure.Food was excellent,washing was in the series of water falls in Arnhem Land 2 minutes walk from camp.
Adventure of a life time.

Rifle for both hunts was a Weatherby Accumark in 300 Win mag firing factory 180 gn Supreme Elite ammo.VERY HIGH QUALITY ammo!


I was using my usual 9.3X66 custom Mauser and the 500 double.

I'll be hunting with CMS in October as well. In Dande. Maybe I'll see you there!

Hunting in 120F temps is no fun, especially the older I get. Have done but not my preference, for sure. I now wear a CamelBak anytime I leave the truck as I dehydrated after killing my first Ele back in 1998. Very dangerous.

Understand Mike. I hunted late October and early November with CMS in 2010. Hunted the same period of time in the Tuli Block back in 08 as well. Hotter than hell both times but we sure had some good hunting. Although it can really get oppressive, I much prefer heat to cold. The biggest issue I had in 2010 was keeping my feet dry and therefore developed blisters. Going to try the Gold Bond solution this time around!!

Frog Toggs and Chilli Pads with a portable, battery operated fan for the night stand this time as well. Actually had air conditioning on the 08 trip! I prefer the more rustic hunt however.
