Whats it like celebrating Xmas upside down?

On our heads of course.

Well there is no snow. It is warm to hot, but today is a nice blue sky day around 27 deg C (81 F).

As usual people visit families for lunch and dinner. I went to church last night (Christmas Eve) and Christmas Day too. We are having Christmas lunch at home then to the parents for dinner.

Many people enjoy Christmas Day or at least the holidays at the beach with 61 kms of beach and lovely white sand and cool blue water. A white pointer shark attack this month has kept a lot of people out of the water this year.

You guys don't know how to celebrate Christmas like we do in Dubai

We have so many nationalities here, that each celebrates it on a different day.

We have celebration from around the 23rd of December to about the 14th of January!!??

Saeed,

From one of what I suspect to be many hundreds of the "lurkers", thanks for hosting a unique and most informative site. I don't remember quite how I happened on the site a year or two ago while back in Houston, but it was certainly my good fortune.

Careers in the Army, and now in the international engineering / construction arena continue to provide priceless friendships, travel opportunities and memories. W're curently in Japan, but I am fondly remembering a Christmas in the Asir region of Saudi Arabia almost thirty years ago when another "Saeed" came by the house to wish me, my wife and two small children "Merry Christmas" when we were far from home...

Best wishes, and thanks again,
Emory

It's just refreshing, for me anyway, to see someone mention "God" at Christmas. I'm pretty fed up with ACLU types, schools that ban Christmas caroles with any mention of God, Jesus, the Saviour, and on and on. I was so NOT surprised to come here, among my friends, and find God prominently mentioned at the top of the page, and in Saeed's Christmas wish to all of us. As I've said for a long time, the nicest people I know are hunters, shooters, and dogs. (You folks are at least one of these three.)

Merry Christmas, people. Merry Christmas, friend Saeed. I wish I knew some fancy Arabic words to say some nice things to you, but I don't... so I'm just darn grateful you are fluent in my language. "Merry Christmas, Saeed." Thank you for this website, and thank you for making it a place where I was able to find new friends and family.

Last year, I was... out of town... for Christmas. This year, I will spend it with my folks and my special little girl, my female Black Lab "JoJo." It's a good Christmas for me. I wish the same for all of you.

Godspeed.

Russ
