Reno SCI Convention starts in a few days. This will be a two part question.
1)What are you look to book at this years event?
2)Upon return, what did you book?

I'll start. Last year I booked this years trip to Tanzania, this year I need New Zealand (2nd time) but most of all I need a Bighorn Sheep hunt. That will finish off my Grand Slam. Both of these hunts I've taken before but not finished what I needed. I own 6 Bighorns now, but I bought them all, I've never killed one.

Next week I let you all know what I came away with from the Convention.

Ok I'll go.....
Wanting to get a Namibia pg hunt put together for 2011, combo hunt and sight seeing with the mrs. Not neccesarily going to book while there but may if I can get something figured out with one of the outfits on my list.

Looking to book a whitetail or whitetail upland combo for 2010 for a buddy and myself.

Also, getting a little more serious about my sporting clays habit and wouldn't mind finding that perfect sporting clay shotgun around there somewhere.....

May book/buy nothing, or a couple of those, just going with a open mind.

*Like many of us, there are some other things I'd love to book. But in my case, I don't know if $85 fat cattle equates out to very many elaborate hunts.....

I'll be talking to a number of outfitters about a buffalo hunt for sure and possibly tuskless elephant, along with whatever else I see that's just too good to leave behind.

I'm looking for an excellent cape buffalo hunt probably 2 to 3 years out. I'm also looking for an Alaskan brown bear hunt in the same time frame. For next fall, a cow elk hunt for my two sons and a nice trophy bison hunt for me, I think I have these two (cow elk and bison) figured out but want to meet the outfitters in person. Plan to fill the freezer this fall and save up for the Africa and Alaska trips.

Chuck

Since I already have a few weeks relaxation in the BVI coming in April, and an Oregon blacktail hunt in October - I think I'll shop for another tuskless/buff for next year, and still have to look at making it to Moz.

Don't know, but it's time to get out of my comfort zone. Anything could happen with free beer in the daytime auction room!

Kicking tires on double rifles and lion hunts. Not pulling the trigger litterally or figuratively on either yet.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

I'll be picking up a Searcy .450-400 double rifle, a custom knife by Arno Bernard, having Russell Boot/Moccasin Co. check out the fit on my Thula/Thulas and picking up another TuffPak from Mims Reed. Once that is all done, then I'll be checking out the prices and availability of some more dangerous game hunts in Zim, and some of the smaller stuff that I still need to shoot in South Africa.
