On the news it was reported that a 35 year old farmer from the Waterberg Region in the Limpopo province was killed by a Buffalo. He was hunting with a client when the Buffalo stormed and killed him. He died on the spot. It was not clear from the news report if they were hunting Buffalo or not. It was also not mentioned if it was a wounded Buffalo or not.

My condolences to the Steenkamp family.

Johannesburg - A farmer has been trampled to death by a buffalo on his farm in Thabazimbi in the Waterberg district, Limpopo, police said on Saturday.

The farmer and his friend were hunting on Friday night when the buffalo attacked them, said Superintendent Malesela Ledwaba.

The farmer died at the scene. His friend escaped by climbing a tree.

When he climbed down a while later, the buffalo had disappeared.
