I had one of those in 30-06 donkey's years ago and used it in extensively in both the UK & in Africa..... It was a fantastic rifle and I loved it to bits but sadly, shot it out in the end and then replaced it with a Blaser R93 in the same calibre. Unfortunately, they don't make that model any more.

How about the same gun in is 358? I think it would be an ideal pig killer. I've been very happy with mine.

The way it's looking, I'm going to end up buying two or three different rifles for the same job because I can't make my mind up what I really want!

As far as I know you wouldn't be subjected to any additional VAT, but firearms aren't always treated like everything else. Among EU countries there are still many differences in firearm acquisition, import and registration regulations, some of which may require additional fees or taxes. In France, at least in my experience, you will still have to obtain an import permit for a firearm, even if the origin of the firearm is Germany. Not all proof houses are recognized either, so depending on where it was proofed you may have to have it reproofed before registration in France. There are costs associated with that as well. For France it is much easier to have a licensed firearms dealer act as a go-between, even if it is you who identify and purchase the firearm from the seller. He can import much easier than you can and will take care of any required paperwork. By the way, people have been hunting wild boar with 8mm and .30 caliber bullets for a long time. I wouldn't be too concerned with that when purchasing a double gun for wild boar. The 8 X 57 JRS with the heavier bullets ought to be adequate and there are some very nice double guns in that caliber on the used rifle racks. I never look for lefties so I can't really address that. _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

Are you tooooo "hoi polloi" for CZ? They produce lefties for lob sided folk. I shouldn't say that, I shoot left, but with proper guns.

[/QUOTE] If you could find a good second hand one in CZ 600, 601, or 602 [300 H&H] depending on calibre, you will find that you do not have to do too much work. Maybe check with Luan or www.guntree.co.za

Ruger Hawkeye standard, RCM and African have left hand actions/cal's. No. 1 medium sporter, 26" 300 H&H. Good looking rifle. Especially if the wood is anywhere near the quality in their website photo. Scott
