Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

butchlocits just a matter of 2-3 weeks , actually you have plenty of time to get one after you get your cat and get home, but remember they are only good for 1 year

Chris01On the application they tell you it will take 90 days. Mine took 60 days. It's good for 1 year. Like Butch said, there's usually plenty of time to apply after you get back home. You can get the application forms online. It's $100 fee to apply.

jdollarpermit is good for one year from date of issuance. also you need a CITES permit issued by the country where the animal is taken and they often will not process their export permit until they get a copy of your US CITES import permit. if you wait until you get home to apply, then you have got a 60-90 day wait for the permit plus the wait for the CITES export permit from the range country. this can add unnecessary down time in order to get the hide out of the country. to me it is easier to get the US permit before you go, take a copy with you(NOT THE ORIGINAL),and give the copy to your PH if you are successful. he can then have the shipper/packer start the paperwork much quicker
