Even though he is still a young male , this guy seems to have the most incredible genetics and based upon his “fuzz” will one day have a mane that many would believe you can only get on a captive bred lion …

I took this pic in august last year in the northern part of the Okavango delta , he was one of a group of five males , four of which were his age and one older , none of the others had the belly and shoulder fuzz that he had and had more “conventional young manes ,,,will be very cool if he sticks around to see what he is like in a few years …

That's about a 3 1/2 year old lion. Need to wait at lest another 3-4 years before taking him IMHO.

I say let that old boy get mighty old until he has spread those genes to as many lasses as possible..Then when he is old and crotchety and has a broken tooth, bent tail, a persistent cough and a has lost his interest in dames make a go at him...
