I'll be there next August. There's not really any information on the forum about the area (especially compared to most other Safari areas in Zim), so thought I'd ask if anyone has been this year? If so, how'd it go? Game populations, etc? Just curious, thanks. Use enough gun... Shoot 'till it's dead, especially if it bites.

I did back in June of 2011, but this year (2012) hunted the Bubye Conservancy with PH Martin Nel. You might see if you can pull up my hunt report at the end of June or July 2011. In 2011 there were some decent herds of buffalo, saw groups of sable, saw Chobe bushbuck, elephant, leopard, baboon, croc, hippo, kudu, some of the smaller types of trophy animals, etc. For now, here's a couple of pics from my 2011 Dande South hunt:

I booked one hunt there with Lance Nesbit as PH this year. Leopard Good Sable, tough Despite the difficulty he shot a good Hyena. Plains game scarce. From the client: "Shot a male leopard on the 9th day, 7'-5" ... There was a lot of leopard, lion and hyena tracks, I wouldn't hesitate sending anyone there for leopard. Hyena were also tough, they didn't like the full moon and we had to wait for complete darkness before they would come to the bait ... Plains game was pretty scarce, not much grass had been burned yet. Camp was good, food was good." He went earlier in the year, thus the grass. He did not hunt Buffalo, nor did he comment on them.

I hunted with Lance in 2011. He's a great PH.
