Ordered a two pair and paid in June, emails have kind of dried up.

I have made numerous inquirys trying to find out what's going on.

I know it's only 3 months....but at least an email or something.

Don't know what happened, but it took 11 months one time to get a reply. When I inquired why it took so long, they said they had just gotten my e-mail.
Best of luck, but their boots are A number 1 with me.
I order mine from Jim at African Sporting Creations. I always get them in a few days from him.

I agree.
I had torn the sole loose from my 1st pair trying to kick some heavy rubber mats in place in my stock trailer.
Called Jim & told him how bad I needed another pair & 2 or 3 days later I had them.

I ordered direct from the factory and Gale responded quickly on all my questions.

Love these elephant leather Courteney Selous boots.

Gale seems to be MIA, I ordered directly from the factory as well.

She confirmed payment, and I have all the emails.

+1 on this.

I keep thinking about buying some myself - just to have. They are tough and have a style to them. However my Russell PHs did such a great job this year with my beat up feet that I am not sure anything could be any better.

If I did order them it would be from ASC though.

The Courtney boot is more of a status symbol than a great boot..has no real support unless your flat footed, goes good with a snake skin hat and a Cabellas Safari wardrobe. sofa

I agree! I tried on a pair and my foot slid around like I was wearing slippers. No support at all....how do you fellas manage with any terrain other than flat ground?

I think that it comes down to personal fit and what works for you.

I wear Asolo 520 Backpacking boots with custom orthotics everyday...even in the summer. I like a stiff sole and allot of support. My feet are sore the next day if I wear sandels or sneakers.

I like my Courtney Selous boots. I wore them exactly one day in the bush -- to retrieve my elephant. But they are great town shoes, quite comfortable for that and easy on and off in airports. Just my personal opinion.

I call BS on that.
I don't know who the heck I would be trying to impress. None of my friends know what they are nor care.
I wear mine all the time.
I had tendonitis in my left foot so bad I had to use a walking cane. Soon after I started wearing my Courtneys the pain went away.

almost everyone has a different foot shape--different lasts fit different people--no sense in getting into a snit about it. Courtneys don't fit me--that doesn't make them bad boots.

for hunting/walking i use Merrils-found a type I liked and bought 3 pair.

otherwise I love my M.L.Leddy custom boots-fit like slippers

I added insoles to mine and they fit like a dream now.

I've never bit the bullet on Leddy boots because I've had buddies with bad reports. Granted, they are not hunting boots. I've heard the same about Russell boots. I wear Palladium desert boots in the hot Texas summer, but I did get a mesquite thorn through the sole once.

As far as cowboy boots, I've got a maker at half the cost and time.

I've been wearing Courteneys for 20+ years. With an arched insole, there is no better footwear. I've measured an honest 1000 miles in my boots (I walk every day 1-2 hours with the Lab). Buying them in Zim is far less expensive than in the USA.

I have always bought my Courteney's direct from Gale with delivery in Safari camp, it has worked very well. Last Safari I ordered 5 different pairs for my self and 1 for wife in Ostrich Leather. She also had an immediate liking for them.

Yes sir! Blood spattered, mud caked, half shredded up (thorns), and they still work like a charm.

Weird, they showed up today without fanfare.

No emails, no tracking numbers, shipped from Messina in South Africa.

None the less they are here, and they don't really work with the orthotic insoles I need.

So I'll put them in the Arbay.

I had a pair but they were simply too large and I still want a pair, but I will not buy them without trying them on first. I gave the pair I bought away to a friend who had larger feet than I,

I looked all over the floor at DSC for a vender who had them so I could try them before I bought them, but no luck! I'll look again this next show!

Depends of your feet. Mine are fine with supports but are not my go to boot for comfort. My REI Monarchs are the best that I have found. I have worn everything. As a full time Outfitter, I am in the field most everyday. I have tried Vasque, Merrels, etc. You name it. Best thing about Courteney's is that they are designed to be quiet and can handle the thorns. Their major problem is that they are heavy. I also spend a great deal of time in my rubber knee high Le Chameaus. I have had these for over 20 years and wear them all of the time. I have never had an issue with a leak or tear. I also recommend Rocky Aztec if you are looking for a knee high snake boot. My uncle is a Podiatrist and most of these are items that he recommends. You have to remember that everyone's foot is different but as you get older your foot wear may change.
I was at Safari and Outdoor in Pretoria two weeks ago and they had the largest inventory of Courteney's that I have seen. Much more inventory than the store I went to in Zimbabwe last year.

Courtney Boots. The Jimmy Choo of safari footwear.

I have a pair. Got over them..quickly. I wear them now, only at SCI, just to watch the reaction. Amusing, to be sure.

Far, far, better footwear available. At half the cost.
