Well, the awaited day of my trophy shipment came with great anticipation today, only to get the shipment that was someone else's trophys. What a let down.
Was expecting my leopard skin and skull, my giraffe and waterbuck. Instead, I got a nice big box full of Kudu, Cape Buffalo, Waterbuck and some other plains game that I didn't shoot. Crap.
The freight company took it back to be returned to it's rightful owner. Hate to post somebody else's name here so if you were expecting a shipment from D&L Customs Brokers, PM me.

I don't know Jim and they don't seem to know at this point either. Somebody in their shipping dept put the wrong address label on the wrong box and somebody in Michigan or Wisconsin (can't remember which) is going to have their stuff delayed by at least a week.

They said they will be checking other shipments to verify where they shipped my box and be looking in their storage for the proper box to get to me. Just DAMN!

Oh, they'll get it figured out. I was just getting excited to see the leopard and get it to my taxidermist.

GREAT NEWS!!!!!
Got an email from the gentleman that received my trophies! It has been sorted out! Blood pressure is back down to acceptable limits. Seems like a very nice guy. They were going to have a "trophy opening" party and can only open 2 of the 3 boxes but at least my trophies are safe.......................

Mine was too! AlThough, the buffalo skull was pretty nice, but not as much as my leopard.

Am interested in hearing which states were
involved. supposed to go where?
Where'd it end up?

Glad it's sorted out and will be corrected soon.
Was the other guy with your stuff on A/R?

Not long ago I sold some tools to a guy and mailed 'em. He found a postage due ticket for $10 more than I paid. Between us, we chased it down and found out the shipping label the PO put on had come off! I sent a txt picture of the shipping ticket and they honored it. Ten days of bs though.

Good luck,
George

A while back my taxidermist received my skins and horns, but there were also some buffalo hooves in the shipment. I didn’t shoot a buffalo on that trip.

Another “this is Africa” moment.

Had the same thing happen to me in Seattle after my first safari. The freight company started giving me a song and dance how it wasn’t their fault which ended with my promise to contact the actual owner and explain the situation. It was quite a shock to open that crate after months of excited anticipation and not recognize any of the enclosed trophies.

I got the wrong eland hide on a mount one time, never did get it sorted out as to who messed up.
Positive I got the right horns, but never have cared for that mount.

On two occasions I've received "extra" hides and horns (I guess it could go south when the USFWS Inspector asks "did you personally take the trophies in this crate?" if they had opened and inspected and the contents don't match my paperwork). Once, I got a very nice Nyala, hide and horns and never did figure out who it belonged to. Another time I received several different plains game hide and heads and was able to find the rightful owner in Michigan. He expected me to ship them to him and me pay the freight...didn't happen that way. After about a year the original shipping company had them picked up and delivered to the right person.

British Airways lost half my trophies years ago.

No one gave us the time of day talking to them.

Eventually their station manager in Dubai was getting as mad at them as me - he basically told me he was on his way out, as dealing with London is like dealing with a bunch brainless nutcases!

So I wrote a letter - all made up - to our companies, instructing them that with immediate effect, no further travel on British Airways will be booked by us.

I also mentioned that we average over 100 bookings a month!

Non of this was true sofa

But, it had the desired effect, and my shipment was found in Singapore???!

And delivered a couple of days later!

I never liked those idiots, and by the looks of things them going down the drain, I am not surprised! clap

Maybe you ought to consider a buyout and create a hunter-friendly airline. Wink
