If you are hunting, your PH will take care of the dipping, packing, shipping, and you will then deal with the customs clearance, storage fee, document fee, etc. Probably about $300 - $400. If you are not hunting, just bringing them home as a souvenir, you would probably be better off by buying one on ebay. I just checked, there is one for sale right now that is going for $10.

RBHunt,
Thanks for the update on proceedures. I will be hunting, and what I actually intend to do is have a custom knife built (on my return) around the Impala horn for my Grandson. So as you can see Ebay is not an option Smiler. I am also going to run into problems with the fact that this is a 5 day hunt and I will not be there long enough for the paperwork to go through. I read somewhere on our forum that it was required that a taxidermist here in the States accept the shipment of all trophy's or horns??? I am not sure about that, any thoughts? Thanks in advance and God bless

I'm a taxidermist, if you just have Impala horns you can clear them your self. There will be a $55.00 charge to US Fish & Wildlife (import fee)

What about horns and skulls? What would the difference in price between a buffalo skull and a skull and cape?

Thanks

Hello Minkman!

There wouldn't be a big difference, maybe $30.00 to $50.00

Widowmaker416,
Thanks for the information regarding the horns. I am still at a loss as far as what the paperwork involved is going to be, and when and how I pay the U.S. F&W. I am sure my PH will have all the information, but I thought I would try to get some of it on my own. Thanks again and God bless.
