Anyone heard of Wayne Jardine of Zimafrica.

I have known him a long time (since the late 80's).

PM me and I will give you his e mail address or have him contact you.

I have been in contact with him and he wants to straighten out what ever the problem is.

I believe Wayne is helping Rebecca Stein, wife of Shawn Stein who was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident a few years ago. I hunted with Rebecca a few years ago, on a hunt booked with Shawn before his accident, and had a good experience. I believe Rebecca is an upfront operator and hope Wayne is too but I do not know him. Zimafrica has some good areas and excellent contacts. Sondelani is a wonderful place.

I have hunted with Wayne Jardine whom was free lancing for Butch Walker of Bulembi Safaris in 1994.

As a PH I was happy with him.

I don't have any direct knowledge of him as an outfitter however. I would do an extensive internet search. There are a lot of comments/heresay on and off the internet.

PM me if you wish.

Prairie Wolf, I have had some contacts with Wayne Jardine. I certainly hope other SCI members do not have to deal with him. I believe he is his own worst enemy and that he simply does not know how to deal with the public. If I understand it correctly, Zimafrica is completing a 2-year suspension from SCI. Allen Kelly (www.kellysafrica.com) has a lot of experience and contact with Wayne, so you can certainly get a lot of feed-back from Allen too. I am headed to Zimafrica this month, so maybe I will have more first hand feedback for you in September. Yours, Bill

I hunted with Wayne Jardine in April of 2006. I liked the man and found him to be an honest man. He can be brusque, but if you're honest with him you can count on him. A very good hunter as well.

I know Wayne Deitrensen (sp?) was trying to book hunts in the same concessions and claimed he was working the areas that Shawn Stein was hunting before his death. I know Wayne Deitrensen has been suspended from SCI - just seems to me there are a host of issues with this whole outfit.

He used to be a partner with some American partners.

It might be worth tracking them down for their opinions.

I have not hunted with the man or ZimAfrica. But have been warned off of them by other PH's that have known him since childhood.

Coming from someone who has had many first hand dealings with both Wayne and Rebecca, I would absolutely advise against having any dealings with either of these two. There is not one little bit of honesty or integrity in either of them, money is what makes them tic not ethics.

On a screwed up hunt, Rebecca gave me a penny for penny refund. This was within a couple of months of her husband's death.... and it was obvious that vultures had desended to pick at the vulnerable leavings. What's happened after that, I can't say, but the refund well appreciated and appropriate.

I hunted with Wayne Jardine when he was still running Tsankaruka. The man has definite problems, including enough personal demons for a whole battalion of PHs, but none of his dealings with me or my associates were underhanded. I found him neither a crook nor a cheat. Difficult to tolerate at times, yes, but not a rotter.

Life is too short to spend your precious hunting time with an individual so many people describe as difficult, hard to tolerate, or dishonest. At one time or another this gentlemen has been described in all of these terms. Beware!

And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory
Than to slowly rot away!

So far all I am getting from the naysayers is innuendo and conjecture. I found Rebecca and Wayne to be very honest. As you are all aware, Zimbabwe has had a few problems over the past few decades. Wayne lost parents, an older brother that he loved dearly, his land, a marriage, friends, and I could go on . Rebecca lost her husband and her children's father.

Rebecca was always a charming hostess. A very beautiful one as well.

We toured Wayne's former ranch that was taken from him in 2000. It was run into the ground. It was his first trip to it in the six years since it was stolen. He was visibly agitated but soldiered on.

I would hunt with them again without hesitation.
