And so if you meet a hunter who has been to Africa, and he tells you what he has seen and done, watch his eyes as he talks. For they will not see you. They will see sunrises and sunsets such as you cannot imagine, and a land and a way of life that is fast vanishing. And always he will will tell you how he plans to go back. (author: David Petzer)

What a bloody awful thing to do!

This buffalo looks like he is a ballet dancer, not mean old dagga boy!

And at this price! This guy must be living in cuckoo land!

Is this monopoly money, who would pay $7500 for a German Nazi toy?

What a loser!

I would rather use the money towards a real buff hunt.

I hunt, not to kill, but in order not to have played golf....

How can this qualify as taxidermy? Confused
Isn't it just a scuplture? Or has he used animal material?

And who would pay $2000 for a 1/2 SCALE Winchester 94? Eeker

Regards,
Marterius

Is that supposed to be a tick bird sitting on the horn? Looks like a fly just landed on it!

Weeeeeeellllllll, I know a guy with about 20 miniatures renging from the original Colts to mini Chuck-wagons. Can't say what he has spent but everytime I see them I drop my jaw at the quality of the reproductive detail.
Us regular guys have to remember there are guys out there paying more than $2K on their handmade suits than we do on a really valuable item like a safari.

I have a friend who makes miniature Winchester Mod 70s. He makes every single part you would find in the real one. They work the exact same way.

He makes his own mini ammo that fires in the rifle as the bolt is fully functional copy of a Winchester, right down to the proper springs. The rifles feed and eject the empty shels and at 10 feet will shoot into an inch.

The checkering is 40 lpi as that is as small as he can do.

Quite a bit more work than building a full size one.

A few years ago I went to the Conservation International show in San Antonio and there was a guy from Germany who sculpted miniature forms and then covered them with tanned hide from ermine, weasel, beaver, etc., to make different animals.

It sounds like it looked like a kid's stuffed toy but the work was incredible! Somehow he trimmed the fur to look real (at least for a 12" tall grizzly!). He had several bears and a dall sheep as I recall. They actually looked miniaturized - down to the white scleral band in the eyes.

His cheapest one was about $6000.00 but they sure were neat.

The body looks good, but the head looks like a big dung ball. I say save the money and go get the real thing and have a full body mount.
