Every single Bow hunting client I have guided has worn at least a camo shirt.

I never wear camo Wink

Is it important? For confidence - Yes. At least the clients feel that if something goes wrong, I am the easily identifiable target and they can fade away and leave me to earn my pay Roll Eyes

I wore a camo coverall tucked into my boots. Helps to keep the turd from falling out and being seen by your hunting partners when you crap your pants.

We seldom get to choose
But I've seen them go both ways
And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory
Than to slowly rot away!

I had to look back at pictures but my hunting buddy was wearing camo bow hunting when he killed at least one of his buffalo,, and no,,, no rubber boots. He was wearing diamandback brand camo similar to what is used a great deal in South Texas. I am not sure how important it was but I think he was wearing camo on all his buffalo kills. I typically wear dark drab colors, olive, grey, brown, etc but do wear camo some as well,,, I see so many times in pictures from Africa,, the hunter is all in camo,, the tracker is wearing an orange jump suit, etc. whatever,,

yes , when bow hunting buffalo i have always used camo and a face net ...as have my clients , i guess a lot depends if you are sitting over water , I have always hunted them where sitting over water would not be productive and so it was very much walk and stalk ...what we usually do is sit on a likely hill overlooking the bush till we can see a bull ......the key is to see him well before he sees you and for this reason tracking in thick bush can be fraustrating ...

once you have seen the old boy , a very very slow and careful approach is required and as important is complete stillness after the shot otherwise the PH will end up shooting him and you lose the "Bow trophy"...

a lot will depend on how hard the buffalo are hunted in the area where you are hunting buff ....hard hunted buffalo are very very hard to get onto ...also with the way their ribs overlap there is no way to shoot without going through bone so you have to be close ...i dont like to let anyone take a shot further than 25 yards ...seems far , but actually on an old wary dagga boy its very very close !!!

does the camo help? ...not sure but it looks cool ... Wink
