Considering a Eland hunt in Camaroon.
Spoke to some folks that had very good luck with Fauna club.
Any one else to consider?
Would like to take a Roan, Waterbuck and perhaps bush buck species in that area.
I know there are some limits on the game pending A,B or C class designations.
Just beginning my research.
I am aware there are some free lance PH's that hunt the area.

You have Arjun Reddy that represents his area and Dennis DR Safaris- But most recently I saw a member here hunt for LDE with Thierry Labatt from Faro Lobeke camp - most impressive Eland he took and they photographed bruisers of elands every day.

I hunted LDE with Club Faune, PH Yann Le Bouvier, in March 2018. Took my LDE on day 3. Took many other species. Niwa concession is very game rich. Would go back in a heartbeat. PM me if you want more details.

I booked with Club Faune for a savanna hunt in Cameroon next year.

I met the Bernon family at SCI this year and they impressed me as good people.

I bid on, bought at auction and upgraded our hunt afterwards.

I am looking forward to this safari in central Africa as much as my first with the Pasanisis in the east.

The French are great outfitters and hunters - too much a secret in the USA.

I organize LD Eland hunts in Cameroon. I am happy to help you there.

There are still a few areas and operators that are good and produce. Faro Lobeke is definitely a great area and operation.

A +50" bull from the faro region.

I hunted with Patrick Dahlan of Faro East in 2017. Within 2 hours of arriving in camp I was watching two big LDE bulls. One younger with huge wide horns, older black-necked one had broomed, broken tipped horns. Shot that one. Saw several larger ones later. If licenses are available you can buy two and shoot everything. I took LDE, buffalo, Roan, Kob, bushbuck, hartebeest, bush duiker, red flanked duiker, and lost a Red river hog. Only other species I wanted was Bohor Reedbuck but the grass was too long.
Patrick is French but has lived in the States. He is effective, runs a tight operation and is great fun to hunt with.

Here are a couple of Giant Eland taken by my clients in the last 2 weeks in Cameroon, along with Roan, Buffalo and a bunch of other plains game.

I do not have the size for the one on top but the bottom one measured 49".

I have been offering hunts for LD Eland and Bongo for several years and have loads of American clients references if anyone would like to speak to.

We are also more reasonably priced than the big-name operators.

Happy to be of assistance in planning your Cameroon adventure from start to end. Apart from Eland, we also offer hunts for Western Savannah buffalo, Western Roan and all other plains game species that are unique to W.Africa. Cameroon now remains the only place that all these W. African species that can be hunted now that Benin has also become too dangerous to hunt.

Good choice Mike and those French know how to hunt hard.

Good day Sir,

I have personally been guiding Lord Derby hunts since 2006. First in CAR and then as of 2014 in Cameroon. I have hunted multiple areas over the yrs and without any doubt the highest concentration of Lord Derby I have seen in any area is in Faro Lobeke’s block where I’m currently guiding now. The operation is second to none. Camps, cuisine, equipment, road network, etc all excellent. However it is probably one of the most expensive places to hunt. Looking at €60k+ so definitely not for everyone but it is an operation run like no other in Cameroon. If you’d like to go this route then pm for more details.

Happy research.

I hunted with Thierry in Cameroon and next to Thierry in CAR for Lord Derby. He knows the areas and the game.
I am trying to convince myself right now that I "need" another Lord Derby hunt.... in Cameroon. Even at the price in his new area, it would be an amazing adventure.
