reddy375I believe thats George Adamson in the video of Elsa lion fame and his semi tame lions!
There was a doco on this some time ago. The two young blokes were a couple of alternative lifestyle types in London with plenty of money and time on their hands. They got George Adamson to rehabilitate (?) their pet.
Don't know what happened to the young blokes (this was pre-aids) but I beleive George Adamson is no longer with us.

Dutch44I don't know if I'd go so far as to call their environment "wild". Hopefully the lion isn't HIV positive. Thought it was Siegfreid and Roy for a minute there.

MARK H. YOUNGArjun,
You are correct. I recognized the old guy but couldn't remember his name.
Unlike the majority I guess I missed something because I thought it was a great clip. Yes! I am aware that this is not normal lion behavior and perhaps some people who live in a bubble could get the wrong idea about wild lions from this but I liked it nevertheless.

BrettAKSCIThe old boy's "wife" looked a little tame for a "wild" lion. I sort of half expected them to be mauled when it started running at them.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

ozhunterGeorge Adams looked after several Lion at his camp at Kora in Kenya and would take them on a daly walk in the wild.
But very few stayed out.
He did get mauled from time to time untill Shifta Bandits killed him.

Interesting reactions to the video clip. Like Mark, I enjoyed it, but then I am not a member of Will's club ie. "the only good lion is a dead lion". Maybe it is not typical lion behavior, and yes, it could be taken as typical, but, unless folks are claiming video tampering I suspect it actually happened. I also suspect that George Adamson will be remembered long after our friend Will.

George Adamson (3 February 1906 - 20 August 1989), the "Baba ya Simba" ("Father of Lions")
On 20 August 1989, the 83-year-old Adamson was shot to death at Kora Reserve by Somalian poachers when he went to the aid of a tourist

N E 450 No2Before my wife and I met she had a "pet" bobcat.
When she got it, a male, it would fit in the palm of her hand.
She had it for a few years, it lived and was friends with her dog as well.
When it reached puberty it became wild and bit her a couple of times, pretty badly.
It always slept on her bed on the pillow next to her. Toward the end she would wake up at night and it would be looking at her and growling.
She finally had to get rid of it.
She called several zoos, and found one that had a very nice bobcat habitat, not just cages that needed a young male.
She sent it to the zoo on Delta Airlines.
When we were married, on our honeymoon trip, we went to that zoo as she wanted to see "her" bobcat.
When we got to the zoo and the bobcat habitat, she called out his name and he came running.
She, and I, was able to pet him. He recognized her, and there was no doubt from his actions he was glad to see her.
Needless to say I was very suprised, and stunned
by his display of affection for her, and his friendlyness toward me.
All the other bobcats in the habitat were very hostile. I was actually scratched rather badly by one female.
