we found out this year that listerine mouthwash makes an excellent ich stopper for tetse fly bites. kills the itch in seconds and keeps it away for some 4-6 hours

That's good information. Does it work on other bug bites as well? _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

I wish someone would find a way to put the Tsetse fly on quota, and design a gun to kill them with, I'd forgo the Buffalo till I wiped the damn things out for good! I have a bumper sticker on one of my old gun cases that has a picture of a Tetse fly, and reads "I gave blood in Zambia!" And Man did I give! ....Mac >>>===(x)===> MacD37, ...and DUGABOY1 DRSS Charter member "If I die today, I've had a life well spent, for I've been to see the Elephant, and smelled the smoke of Africa!"~ME 1982 Hands of Old Elmer Keith

The last thing I would want to see is the fly wiped out. When the fly goes, cows and people move in and the game goes. The fly is the best conservationist in much of Africa. 465H&H

Kenalog cream is an excellent medication for bites. I have used it from Alaska to Zambia! Have your Dr. write a Rx before you leave. Works well on inbedded ticks also. Jim

I've concluded that the very best way to deal with the tsetse fly is to just ignore it. I may be unique, but my body seems to adjust to them after a few days and all the welts just disappear and don't return, no matter how thick the fly. I, for one, am thankful for the fly -- he's responsible for the existence of much of the game in Africa -- without him, farming will have taken over long ago. Campho-Phenique, Benadryl liquid or Cream both worked well in the past for me. Kenalog and other steroid creams reduce swelling and itching as well. DuggaBoye-O NRA-Life Whittington-Life TSRA-Life DRSS DSC HSC SCI

EXACTLY. One PH I hunted with would sometimes gently pick the tetse off of him and let it go. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY
